Hey Party People,
With my new video I tackle a subject near and dear to us superhero fans: Under used characters! We all have fan characters, who are not included the main pantheon of a publisher’s superheroes. So we lie and wait for the time when they decide to use them again- and then we hope and pray that they aren’t changed beyond what we enjoyed about the character in the first place. Kinda like Chuck Dixon’s massive @#$% on Richard Dragon.
Within the past few years, the focus has been on creating superheroes who are not white, male, and straight. And, as I have shown in a previous video, there is a great need for this is. What there is not a great need for is more superheroes of the same name- sporting different skin colors, sexual preferences, regions, and gender definitions. But, for the most part, that’s all companies like DC gives us. Over looking some great less known characters! So to the point, I have no frick’n interest reading a Green Lantern comic featuring an Indian female as a new GL- BUT I would so buy a comicbook featuring Celsius! Why they don’t feature her in DC Superhero Girls is beyond me! Now, don’t get me wrong. DC should be creating new minority superheroes. They should just be giving them their own identity. And if they are replacement heroes, they should be replacing heroes who’s careers are effectively ‘dead': like the original Firebrand. So here is a list of 10 minority superheroes that DC should use more often!
